Competitions

The Dance Collective regularly competes in dance competitions in New Hampshire and the northeast. Our masterclass artists identify dancers who have special talent and we then invite those dancers to our junior or senior company, depending on age. Having masterclass artists choose competition candidates allows our faculty to remain objective and supportive of all students. And the masterclass artists have a wealth of experience to assist them in identifying the elements that make good competition candidates.

If the dancer is interested in competition we work with them and their families to prepare for competitions including finding a dance artist to choreograph, costume choice, mental preparation, and more.

Competition allows for dancers to stretch themselves to be the best they can be. Attending competitions offers the opportunity to see dancers from multiple studios, and be exposed to different approaches to dance including styles, techniques, and interpretation.

We first recommend competition in-state with our longtime competition conference Starbound. We also are extending beyond the state to northeast competitions such as Ignite Dance Live and Groove. We are open to trying additional competitions as possible.
