Annual Recital

At the end of our Winter term we hold our annual recital. This gives an opportunity for our students to demonstrate what they have learned and how they have honed their craft. It is an opportunity for them to share with friends and families their performance and celebrate the year.

The recital is always in high demand. Families must buy tickets for the shows and we offer families the opportunity to purchase tickets before they are offered to the public to ensure that every dancer has loved ones in the audience.

Families do need to purchase tickets for their dancers if they are going to be in the audience outside of their specific performance. The “Littles”, dancers in Early Start, Ready-to-Go, and Dancing Divas, have reserved seats up front and an extra seat for one family member to sit with them is reserved. This makes it easy for these young dancers to get to and from the stage with the assistance of assistant dance instructors. The family member must pay for their ticket but tickets for the littles who sit in the front are not charged.

We assume all dancers will participate in the dance recital. This experience, performing to a friendly audience, builds confidence and is usually a delight for all dancers. After the first four weeks we do ask dancers to commit to the recital. At that point a charge for costumes will be applied to accounts and dancer measurements will be collected and costumes ordered. Since costumes are made to order it’s important we have a commitment at that time. After the recital the costumes go home with the dancers.
