SARS-COVID-19 Rules for Fall 2020

The following are our new procedures for all classes:

  1. All students will be dropped off and picked up from the parking lot in a drive through fashion. The only exception to this rule will “Early Start” where when you register each spot counts as two. If your child is in “Dancing Divas” and there is room you will be able to stay with Allyson’s approval. For the younger classes one teacher will be outside accepting students at either door. The teacher will be waiting to receive students and will take the students temperature and sanitize all hands as they arrive. All teachers are required to wear masks. Masks are optional for students.
  2. Our floors are tape gridded in proper socially distanced areas leaving a blank square between each dancer as class sizes are limited to 8. There is a taped off teacher area up front and toward the back where students are not permitted and one by our desk, so that teachers can breathe, direct, drink water, change music, etc. Teacherss may possibly pull off masks for a second to catch their breath… this is important. It gets hot behind the mask, particularly with physical exertion.
  3. Center floor work: each student will stretch and do center work in the middle (marked with tape) of each gridded square.
  4. Across the floor: each dancer will report to their x and go across the floor when called. Little ones will use their own gridded square for across the floor.
  5. Changing dance shoes: Little ones will sit on the floor to change shoes and teachers (wearing maskes) will change their shoes from the floor if they need help. After each shoe change everyone gets sanitized. Each student will have an assigned x spaced at least 6 feet apart.
  6. Bathroom: there is sanitizer outside of the bathroom. Our bathroom is in the dance room, so only dancers and staff will use them. I have to ask that parents do not use the bathroom. After each use we will ask if they washed hands, we will have them re-apply GermX, and a teacher will spray potty and sink with disinfectant. Hence there are 2 teachers in each room. I have motion sensor soap and paper towel dispensers to limit the amount of touching un necessary items.
  7. At the end of each class (we will dismiss 5-10 minutes early- depending on class size) dancers are called to retrieve street shoes and belongings while performing social distancing. I ask that parents wait outside until we call them in and dismiss their child. Please ensure you are on time to ensure we can get the necessary tasks done in between classes.
  8. Between each class: all bars, door handles, door handles and common areas are cleaned.
  9. If you send your child with a cell phone it must be in a plastic bag and kept in there dance bag at all times.
  10. If a student looks sick, we have thermometers on hand to check temps. If a child needs to be picked up, they will be waiting in lobby isolated away from other dancers and staff. We of course, will walk them out.
  11. I am asking parents to keep any child home if they are sick, have or had fever in last 48 hours, anyone in the home is sick, etc. We will send anyone home who doesn’t feel well.
  12. We are still offering the virtual experience at class time. We plan to live stream from classes for students who would like to participate in classes or intensives from home or when spots fill.
  13. At the end of each night, the teachers will wipe down all surfaces (door knobs, door handles, bars, desk, etc. and re-spray the bathrooms.
